R&D department
The company possesses 8 international patents and 37 current trademarks. These figures are made possible by a strong commitment to R&D, which ranks among the key assets of the company. In 2017, Urmet invested 6% of its turnover in Research and Development activities, with over 50 people dedicated to R&D in the Turin headquarters alone.
In the Piedmontese R&D area, workspaces are well distributed among common areas and specialised laboratories with control and testing machines. This is where the development of software and hardware for the communication and security systems of the company is coordinated. The search for new solutions is also promoted through the ongoing improvement of design dynamics, by implementing transparent processes and the active involvement of project stakeholders.
Other technology hubs engaged in research and design are located in 13 plants in 6 countries.
