What are the goals of this partnership between Mac System and Detectortesters regarding safety in fire detection systems, Mr. Zorzetto?

(F.Z.) Our partnership with Detectortesters is built on a shared vision: ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability in the fire safety sector with high-performance testing products. Both of us aim to guarantee maximum efficiency and reliability in the fire safety sector. With nearly 35 years of experience, we are known as a reference point for manufacturers and installers in the security industry. Through Detectortesters, we can expand our leadership into the fire system testing sector through brands like Solo, Testfire, Smokesabre, and Scorpion. In short, it’s a perfect union in line with our mission: to distribute cutting-edge security systems.

And from your point of view, Mr. Ricoux?

(E.R.) Detectortesters’ solutions, with a global presence, have been available in Italy for some time. With increasing demand and ambitious expansion plans, we sought new partners to help us reach a broader audience. Mac System is a significant player in the market, with a large customer base and a proactive approach to marketing. They already offer a wide range of fire safety products on their e-commerce platform, and now, with our testing tools, they complete their offering, allowing customers to purchase all fire safety essentials from a single source. Although the partnership is in its early stages, we are already seeing the benefits. Our marketing departments are actively collaborating and sharing ideas to meet existing demand, increase sales, and reach new customers. It’s a promising partnership for both companies.

So what does this partnership represent for Detectortesters?

(E.R.) The Italian market has always been crucial for Detectortesters, with regulations (UNI11224) requiring functional testing of fire detectors in a compliant manner. While we are leaders, international growth has been driven by distributors. At the beginning of this year, I joined Detectortesters to develop the business in Southern Europe and focus our attention on this region. Naturally, I can’t do it alone, so I looked for new partners who could add value to our offering and ensure our products are presented to a relevant audience. Mac System is emblematic of this. It’s a well-structured company with a competent team skilled in promoting our products. We believe that this collaboration will allow us to truly showcase our products and their potential to those who use them.

Moving on to the solutions, what are the advantages of Detectortesters’ product range?

Our solutions are universal and can be used with all brands of detectors: Bosch, Siemens, JCI, Notifier & Esser, Inim, Argus, Hochiki, Teledata One, TecnoFire, El.Mo, Urmet, etc. This ensures that when technicians are sent on-site, they always have an appropriate test solution, regardless of the detector’s brand. Moreover, all products are designed to allow rapid on-site movement and compliant testing with minimal disruptions.

The universal design has been approved by all manufacturers. We are proud of the relationships and collaborations established with manufacturers, ensuring adequate test solutions for old and new detectors, providing a comprehensive and reliable offering.

Finally, thanks to our SmokeSabre, Solo, Testifire, and Scorpion product lines, we can offer solutions that allow functional testing of smoke, heat, and CO detectors, both in single-sensor and multi-sensor forms. Through special adapters and our Scorpion line, we are the only ones offering solutions for testing aspirating smoke detection (ASD) systems. This is complemented by a range of poles for accessing different heights with removal tools and complete test kits. The strength of our offering is a key reason for our global leadership in designing and manufacturing detector test solutions.

The fire safety sector is highly regulated. Which is the importance of compliant functional testing?

(E.R.) Functional testing ensures the proper functioning of fire detectors and their readiness in case of a fire. Regular maintenance and annual inspections in compliance with regulations, such as UNI11224 in Italy, are essential to ensure the reliability of fire systems and protect investments. Functional testing is crucial to ensure the correct operation of fire systems, preventing delays or malfunctions in emergency situations and enhancing overall safety. The use of compliant tools is fundamental for safe and effective testing. The growing awareness of the importance of testing and maintenance has made it common for building owners and facility managers to request proof of testing. Detectortesters will soon be launching Testifire XTR2, a connected solution that simplifies testing and result recording, contributing to a safe environment.
