Securex West Africa 2020 postponed

Securex West Africa 2020 and it's co-located events including Firexpo and WACSS, scheduled to take place at The Landmark Centre, Lagos from the 17th till the 18th March, was postponed following the escalation of COVID-19 Coronavirus globally. The event will take place from Tuesday 30th June to Wednesday 1st July 2020, at the Landmark Centre, in Lagos, Nigeria.

“The effects, actual and projected, of Coronavirus  are evident across the globe – Afrocet Montgomery, the organizer of Securex West Africa says – and the climate in which we are operating is changing in real time meaning we couldn’t be sure that the event could go ahead as planned on it’s scheduled dates. Paying close attention to the World Health Organisations advice and the Nigerian Health Ministry we have reluctantly made the decision to postpone the event to later in the year when we hope the effects have subsided.

Our community of international exhibitors are not able to travel, due to government directives or corporate regulations. We as organisers feel a responsibility to ensure the health and safety of our exhibitors, visitors and all attendees and believe the right thing to do was postpone the event to ensure that this is not jeopardised.

We know the event is integral to the regional security industry and as such have rescheduled the event to take place from Tuesday 30th June – Wednesday 1st July 2020, at the Landmark Centre, Lagos.

The venue, layout and set up will remain exactly the same. Agreements have also been reached with all of our recommended suppliers who have committed to a shift of all confirmed services to the new dates”, they underline from Afrocet Montgomery.

“As we look ahead – they add – to our new exhibition dates, we're excited to make this year's show, our ten-year anniversary, our best yet. We've still got our specialist line-up of expert speakers, globally renowned brands on display and unmissable networking opportunities. Now, more than ever, we're determined to ensure that Securex West Africa provides a much-needed platform for security, safety & fire professionals to keep abreast of the latest threats, prevention, and protection methods for their business”.
