Securex West Africa, scheduled to take place at The Landmark Centre, Lagos from the 29th till the 30th June 2021, has been postponed to May 10th, 11th and 12th 2022 due to the global pandemic.
“With the difficulties that we all continue to face – they underline from Securex West Africa – as organisers of Securex West Africa we have made the decision to postpone the physical 2021 event, rescheduling to May 2022 with a refreshed look and new opportunities.
This decision has not been taken lightly but due to the ongoing effects of COVID-19 felt at different levels, but significantly in Nigeria where limitations remain in place allowing only 50 people to gather for an event and a mandatory quarantine of seven days for all travellers into the country. We felt with these limitations we cannot be fully confident of planning and delivering the high-level we strive to achieve when delivering our exhibitions for clients and visitors.
As with everyone in the industry we hope that come May next year the levels of international travel will be approaching their pre-covid levels and with it, increase spending in new markets and by proxy a renewed interest in exhibiting at trade shows globally as people and companies make up for lost time. Because of this we felt that it was the perfect time to refresh the offering of Securex by bringing in new features and opportunities to the event. Securex West Africa 2022 will return to it’s three day production, by introducing further key sectors that compliment the target audience, including fire, facilities management and smart cities components and taking on board all the learnings of the last 12 months to include greater levels of digital engagement that add value to the live event.
As organisers we are aware that this will be the second time we have had to postpone the exhibition because of COVID-19 and it is because of this we are looking into the options of a virtual offering over the scheduled 2021 dates of 29 – 30 June. Further information will be provided in the coming weeks as we endeavour to connect our community in June and help us understand and hopefully identify the opportunities that we all have going forward and as the sector and indeed the world returns to normality”, they end.
