For the two-year period from 2013 to 2015, this results in a growth rate of approx. 21 percent  in  the  turnover of  the  private  security  service  providers. The  main sources  of turnover  were  property  protection  services with 54 percent of  the turnover, airport  security  with  eleven  percent, emergency  call  and service control rooms  with  ten percent as well  as  money  and  valuables  services  with seven percent.

One  new utilisation  field  is  the  protection  of  refugee accomodation.
In 2015, five percent of all the staff were  deployed  in  this  area. Moreover,  that  should  have made a substantial contribution to the growth of the turnover in the sector in 2015.

2) Electronic Security Technology
The  market  for  electronic  security  systems  has  exhibited  a  continuous  upward development  in  recent  years:  by 19 percent  in  the  period  from  2013  to  2015 under  consideration.  This  development  is  also  still  being  borne,  above  all,  by  the positive  development  of  the  fire  alarm  installations  ( plus 24 percent) which  is resulting  from  the  notable  demand  for  smoke  alarms. Moreover,  the  turnovers with hold up and intruder alarm installations are exhibiting rates of increase of ten percent in the two-year period under consideration.

The strong market growth of hold-up and intruder alarm installations as well as the growth  in  the  field  of  locks  and  mountings are being  promoted  by  current developments.  For  example,  the  number  of  burglaries  has  risen  sharply  in  recent years, in the case of domestic burglaries alone by twelve percent up to 167,136 in the last two years. In view of these figures, the federal government has decided to promote the installation of security technology in homes using programmes of the Credit  Institute  for  Reconstruction  (KfW).  This decision taken  by the  feder al government was certainly  also confirmed  by  the  fact  that,  in  the  meantime, 43 percent of all burglary  attempts  are  prevented,  above all,  by  utilising security technology and grind to  a  halt  at  the  attempt stage, as  indicated  by  the  crime statistics.

3) Locks and Mountings
The field of locks and mountings will also continue its positive development due to the  good  economic  situation  in  the  building  trade  and  to  the  various  promotion programmes  of  the  federal  government  and  the  federal  states which are  aimed at the energy-related renovation of  buildings and, of course, are also reflected in the replacement of doors and windows.
