Security Essen is more and more an international exhibition and almost in contrast, we can say, since it’s growing edition after edition. Which are the strong points, the peculiarities of your event?
At Security Essen – the world’s premier fair for security solutions – we bring supply and demand together in a perfectly matching form. Here, the exhibitors meet exactly their target groups while, on the other hand, the trade visitors find precisely what counts in the sector. That makes Security Essen the ideal ordering and networking platform and is also the reason for its success.
This year, Security Essen will consistently place its faith in its solution-oriented profile: From mechanical security technology, fire protection and IT security via security systems for outdoor sites and video surveillance right up to integrated security solutions – around 1,100 exhibitors from over 50 nations will be concentrated at Messe Essen with a widespread range on offer. As a driving force behind innovations in the sector, Security Essen will focus on innovations and trends: In Hall 6, visitors will find products and services from the future field of IT security. No fewer than two halls will be dedicated to the subject of fire protection. In addition, we are looking forward to a large number of new products which will give their premieres at Messe Essen. We will honour the best innovations with the Security Innovation Award.
Italian exhibitors are growing too, at each edition. Why, in your opinion, is an Italian producer or an Italian Company interested to join Security Essen?
At Security Essen, exhibitors from Italy find an ideal stage in front of an international public. In particular, the expert quality of the visitors and their high willingness to invest are highlighted by the exhibitors time and again. Conversely, Italian visitors have the possibilities here to obtain information about the range available on the worldwide market, to establish contacts and to make investment decisions. At Security Essen, contacts and discussions are possible more efficiently and intensively than anywhere else.
Not only the comprehensive range on offer and the ideal networking possibilities but also the large number of innovations make Security Essen an absolute must for the Italian security sector. A lot of exhibitors develop their innovations in a targeted way for the world’s premier fair in order to introduce them to the trade public for the first time there.
Talking about the security sector, what’s the future in the short and medium term for the security market? Which are the significant drivers? How will needs evolve, how much important will be going towards the “end user”? Which characteristics the future consumer will have, both in B2B and in B2C market?
Within the sector, we can register an extremely positive development in the turnover. Security is and will remain a popular good. The security sector is experiencing a strong upturn throughout the world. Indeed, this is totally understandable precisely in times of economic and political turbulences. Modern technologies, products and services are more in demand than ever before.
Amongst our trade visitors, we are observing how various fields of corporate security are moving ever closer together. In the companies, the technical jobs and protection concepts are growing together to an increasing extent. This means that security and safety can no longer be considered separately from each other either. This integration is also reflected in the range on offer at Security Essen: We have successfully extended the fire protection section which will occupy two halls for the first time this year. IT security is another important subject not only for people responsible for security at large conglomerates but also for small and medium-sized enterprises.
With its own forum, Security Essen has, for years, here already offered a platform on which experts indicate solution paths to the trade visitors in a generally comprehensible and practice-oriented form.
If we focus on private security, which photo can you take about it in Germany at the moment being?
In the period from 2009 to 2011, the fields and sectors in Germany which are represented at Security Essen have experienced a respectable further development in their turnover.
In this respect, the seven-percent growth in the turnover to Euro 11 billion essentially results from the three areas of security services, electronic danger alarm installations as well as locks and mountings.
