Axis Communications launched the new and compact AXIS S3008 Recorder, an easy-to-install ultra-high definition recording solution compatible with AXIS Companion video management software.

Featuring an integrated PoE switch for up to 8 cameras, this high-performance recorder includes a surveillance-grade hard drive and gigabit uplink for video recordings in ultra-high definition. Extensively tested with a wide range of Axis products, AXIS 3008 makes it easy to add additional recorders and other Axis devices. For instance, it’s possible to add network speakers to communicate with staff and deter intruders or network video door stations for audiovisual identification and remote entry control.

AXIS S3008 Recorder allows you to access video footage from anywhere in the world thanks to the Axis Secure Remote Access technology that makes it possible for a smartphone or PC client to access Axis network cameras when the client and the cameras are located on different local networks. Connecting to remote cameras can be a challenge, especially when the cameras are located behind routers or firewalls. Axis Secure Remote Access significantly simplifies the installation of remote access to surveillance systems. Once enabled it is automatically configured and removes the need of manual port-forwarding and router configuration.
