The Korean Security Market
Under COVID-19 pandemic, Korean Security industry has found its own breakthroughs by targeting non-face-to-face non-contact solutions, COVID-19 preventive measures, and activation of telecommuting.
Especially, Korean physical security market faced a new phase as various systems and products for safety received attention due to the enforcement of the Serious Disaster Punishment Act and the Itaewon disaster.
SECON & eGISEC’s official media <Boannews> and <Security World> conducted “2022/2023 Security Market Survey” at the end of 2022. According to this survey, Korean Security industry is very positive about the market growth rate.
The volume of the Korean security market, combining both physical and cyber security in 2022, was $5 billion. This was a 9% rose from $4.7 billion in 2021. Korean security market is expected to reach $5.3 billion in 2023, and $5.5 billion in 2024.
Under these bright circumstances, SECON & eGISEC 2023 will take place.
SECON & eGISEC 2023: 3 Days of Security Festival
SECON & eGISEC 2023, celebrating its 22nd anniversary this year, launched in 2001 as Korea’s first security exhibition.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Ministry of Interior and Safety, SECON & eGISEC 2023 will be held in Hall 7-8, KINTEX2, on a scale of 23,000+㎡. For exhibitors, 355 security companies will attend to introduce various latest products and solutions. For visitors, 30,000+ security associates including purchasing managers, system operators, CISO, CPO, CIOs and developers and programmers are expected to attend.
SECON & eGISEC 2023 will not only showcase products and solutions, but will also look into “security” the core of the digital convergence era, and suggest future direction for the security industry through conferences on about 17 tracks, 100 sessions.
Programs to Maximize Buisness
SECON & eGISEC 2023 is a business marketplace for security equipment import and export consultations. It provides various business programs for exhibitors and visitors, including “Business Matching Programme” and “KISIA Startup Pavilion” and more.
- First, “Business Matching Programme” arranges business meetings between exhibitors and hosted buyers. SECON & eGISEC 2023: Attend Exciting Concurrent Events and Conferences
At the National Information Security R&D Pavilion, you can meet various security-related technologies developed or that are currently under development by Korea’s leading research institutes, KISA (Korea Internet & Security Agency) and ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute).
Hacking Demonstration Hall, which is popular with visitors every year, will be set up again this year. It provides useful information and fun experience to visitors as hacking experts demonstrate hacking process live on-site.
Security World Conference 2023 Track A will be held in conference room 404(4F), on 13:10-15:10, 30th(Thu), March. First session(13:10-13:40) is about Antivirus Software, Researcher Kang Sik Shin of KAIST CSRC as a speaker. Second session(13:40-14:10) is about OT Security in Korea, and researcher Byung Hwan, Bae of KISA as a speaker. Third session(14:10-14:40) is about OT Security in global companies, and the speaker is Sr. Regional Sales Engineer, Yang Su Park of Nozomi Networks. Lastly, fourth session’s topic is Social Safety Net, CEO Dong Kook Yang of DK A.N.T as a speaker. “Security World Conference 2023 Track A” specially provides simultaneous interpretation (KOR-ENG) service for overseas visitors. SECON & eGISEC 2023: Pursuing the Sustainable Development
SECON & eGISEC 2023 is active in participating ESG management campaigns under the theme of “Sustainable Future” at the Informa Group level.
As an environment-friendly exhibition, SECON & eGISEC 2023 requires all members of the event to practice environmental conservation. It is pursuing policies to reduce carbon emissions by reducing waste generated between device construction and demolition, using recyclable materials for booth, and using recyclable containers for food and beverage. SECON & eGISEC 2023 also aims for sustainable cooperation with exhibiting companies. It prohibits double-deck booths, drastically lowers the height of exhibition booths, and encourages the use of recyclable materials for booth designs.
As part of contributing to community, SECON & eGISEC 2023 staff is consisted of retired middle-aged people regardless of gender or age, and young people who have not yet entered society. In addition, SECON & eGISEC 2023 is cooperating with local government of exhibition area so that members of the event can contribute to improving local sales by using tourist attractions and restaurants near KINTEX.
